The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) and leading energy-market player ENGIE Lab Singapore are launching a large-scale pilot project, called PowerZ, on NTU Campus.
Please use your ntu-email address to create an account. It is planned to release a nationwide version in 2016.
The idea behind PowerZ is to get everyone involved in increasing the energy efficiency while having fun at the same time. Bringing together an app that combines a smartphone virtual experience with practical initiatives on the campus, PowerZ is a real team effort, with campus users doing their bit to reduce everyday electricity consumption (e.g. air conditioning) on the campus.
This unique pilot also has an academic purpose as it will allow ERI@N and ENGIE to learn what impact users of the campus can have on reducing its energy consumption.
NTU's commitment to sustainable development is demonstrated by the EcoCampus programme, whose goal is to reduce the consumption of resources (energy, water, waste) by 35% by 2020. This programme aims, among other things, to give those on the campus (both students and staff) the chance to play an active role in this revolution
EarthLink NTU, the biggest student organisation dealing with environmental issues at NTU, is supporting PowerZ through the involvement of its management committee.
